Riverbed Invites Attendees to ‘Experience The Future of Networking’ at GITEX 2016

Networking leader will launch the latest version of its SteelConnect, SteelCentral and SteelFusion product lines and host live demonstrations of these through the 5-day exhibition

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - September 21, 2016 - Riverbed Technology, the application performance company, today announced its participation at GITEX 2016. In-line with the theme ‘Experience the Future of Networking’, the vendor intends to unveil its latest Riverbed® SteelConnect™, Riverbed® SteelCentral™, and Riverbed® SteelFusion™ solutions. Through its collaboration with Microsoft, Riverbed will also showcase its solutions for optimization and visibility for the highly popular Office 365, SharePoint and Azure platforms.

Earlier this year, Riverbed introduced SteelConnect, the industry’s first and only product to unify network connectivity and orchestration of application delivery across hybrid WANs, remote LANs and cloud networks. SteelConnect 2.0 which will be launched at GITEX includes new platform integrations, native dynamic routing, and support for large-scale deployments. Commenting on this, Taj ElKhayat, Regional Vice President, Middle East and Africa, said, “SD-WAN represents the future of networking and is a market that will rapidly grow to US$6 billion in 2020. Riverbed is at the forefront of this technology revolution and we will use GITEX as a platform to educate attendees on how this approach can solve the complexity in hybrid clouds and networks, improve efficiency and flexibility and enable them to easily shift workloads and deploy new applications and services.”

He further explained that ‘comprehensive end-to-end visibility’ would be another focal area for Riverbed. Through its recent acquisition of Aternity, Riverbed has now added end-user experience monitoring to the already impressive set of capabilities of its SteelCentral portfolio. With the increased use of mobile devices, virtual desktop environments and the cloud, the ability to manage end user experience has become more important and complex for IT organizations. The new SteelCentral release delivers greater integration with Riverbed’s SD-WAN solution, extends monitoring to any endpoint, and is now available as-a-service from the cloud.

With its latest update, SteelFusion, Riverbed’s industry-leading hyper-converged branch IT solution, will be offered in two new deployment options to give customers greater flexibility in how they transform distributed infrastructure into a Software-Defined Edge that is agile, secure, and cost-effective. With 'Core in the Cloud', SteelFusion 4.5 will offer the option to deploy SteelFusion on an IaaS cloud platform for the enterprise, whereas the 'Virtualized Edge' offering will deliver complete software-defined edge capabilities in a virtual form factor capable of running on any server hardware that meets required specifications.

In addition to its own stand at GITEX, Riverbed will also have a presence at Microsoft’s booth as a platinum level sponsor, where it will showcase demonstrations for its SteelHead and SteelCentral AppInternals 10 solutions to support Microsoft customers as they embrace their journey into the cloud while achieving visibility, optimization, and control. “We will deliver live demonstrations to explain how customers can enhance their experience with the Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform through the optimization that our integrated SteelHead solution delivers,” explained Taj Elkhayat. For customers, the process of adopting Riverbed’s technology has been simplified as Riverbed SteelHead CX subscriptions are available on the Microsoft Azure marketplace.

A regular participant at GITEX, Riverbed believes its presence helps drive its engagement with new and existing customers and partners, as well as reinforce its position as the leading application performance provider to enterprises across the region. “GITEX is by far the biggest trade show of its kind in the region and we will make every effort to foster fruitful engagements with customers and partners that lead to mutually beneficial partnerships through the rest of the year,” concluded Taj Elkhayat.

Attendees can meet technical and sales professionals from Riverbed at its stand CLD-16 in Hall 4 and at the Microsoft stand.
